From the 2nd of October to the 8th, Donesafe will be taking the week off Social Media. But why you ask? Well I’ll tell you:
The staff at Donesafe are one of over 10,000 teams and nearly 80,000 players worldwide taking part in the Whole Life Challenge over the next two months. All our staff are competing to earn the most number of points by leading a healthy lifestyle.
(I’m currently coming 3rd last In Donesafe.)
From their website, The Whole Life Challenge is an 8-week online, community-building, habit-changing game that challenges you and your friends to create happier, healthier lives by making small, daily changes. Participants start each day with as set number of points and lose them for failing to meet certain objectives:
It’s because of that lifestyle challenge that we’re going social media quiet. Next week’s is (you guessed it); no social media for a week. I shiver at the thought!
So why do it?
The genius of the Whole Life Challenge is that it isn’t asking the world. It’s just asking for tweaks; minor adjustments to help you get more out of your day and lead a healthier lifestyle. Plus it’s a competition (which yes, I’m currently losing, and that doesn’t bother me at all).
Healthy living initiatives at work are a great way to keep your staff happy, healthy and energised throughout the day. And hey, if you can make a game out of it, that’s even better.
Now to ditch Facebook for a week. This could be the hardest challenge yet…
And as always, stay safe out there.
(And again, I’m totally ok with the fact that I’m coming 3rd last… for now)
